Narada Bhakti Sutras - Day 4 (Part 2)

Love and Respect

  1. Is there is a love where there are both love and respect can coexist? Yes, the love of enlightened ones.
  2. In live if you are soaked in knowledge, your respect will never diminish.
  3. Respect that you gain due to position lasts as long as the position last but the respect that you gain by your virtues, qualities - smile and compassion and broad mindedness - is long lasting. And these virtues are present in everyone. You just need to go to Narada.
  4. Love and respect can co-exist in divine love.
  5. Wake up and see you have not understood yourself; you are as big as sea, as vast as sky. When do you lose the respect? When you don't know the vastness (of yourself and others).
  6. We usually identify with people and events or the qualities that they possess.
  7. Do not judge anyone; anytime any body can blossom. Divine love gets you to that level of non-judgment and when you are non-judgmental, your respect for life never diminishes. At most, compassion will arise in you.
  8. When you disrespect someone, you own heart becomes hard, consciousness shirks. And when it  shrinks how can you hold the vastness that you are? This is what you need to know in relationships.
  9. Though Gopi's were so close to Krishna, so much in love with Krishna, they never lost the respect for him.
  10. Ego can not stand closeness. The purpose of ego is to gain respect. When respect is not gained, ego get squashed. But can you think of respectability without ego? Yes - when you are not looking for it; when you are like a child; just being in your nature is good enough to gain the respect. When you don't crave for respect, respect will come and when you crave for respect, even if you get it, it is not worth having.
  11. Anything distant appears to be glorious but when they are close to you start finding faults.
